Cranberry Yuletide w/ Rosemary Simple Syrup
It's like a mule but it's festive - get it? :D I'm hosting a little holiday shindig at my place this weekend, so I thought it best to dust off the cocktail recipes and I'm always in the mood for a mule (or anything in a copper cup for that matter)...
I decided to switch this recipe up a bit with a fresh rosemary simple syrup. I think it adds a little freshness without overpowering the cranberry. I always make my own syrups for cocktails and coffees, people think it's ultra fancy but all you have to do is boil water and sugar and the possibilities are endless!
Side note: please don't judge my ugly large chunky ice cubes, my refrigerator "crushed ice" setting apparently needs some fine-tuning :)
Cranberry Yuletide Cocktail
recipe is for 1 drink
1 part vodka
1 part cranberry juice cocktail
2 parts ginger beer
1 tsp rosemary simple syrup (recipe below)
Lime wedges, fresh cranberries and sugared rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)
Directions
Pour vodka, cranberry juice cocktail, beer and lime juice in a copper mug filled with ice. Gently stir to combine.
Garnish with lime wedges, fresh cranberries and a sprig of fresh rosemary.
Rosemary Simple Syrup
Always one part sugar to one part water - then you can add whatever flavor you like!
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1-2 sprigs of fresh rosemary (washed)
In a medium saucepan combine sugar, rosemary, and water. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool.
