What I had on Thanksgiving

Since it was just Lewis and I for Thanksgiving this year, we decided to roast a turkey breast instead of the whole bird. Usually, I follow Alton Brown's turkey recipe which is always uh-mazing but this time I kept it simple with a bit of butter and a classic dry rub.

For sides, I prepared mashed potatoes (I like them thicc with some of the skins still on), balsamic roasted veggies, spoonbread dressing, and my cranberry-apple chutney. I followed this Spoonbread Dressing recipe from The Splendid Table only I subbed chicken broth for whole milk (because I totally forgot to get milk at the store) and it still turned out delicious.

Roasted carrots and sprouts are always my go-to veggie side dish. If you've never had roasted brussel sprouts, I highly recommend you do so. I usually mix olive oil. balsamic vinegar, a little bit of sugar, salt, and herbs together and roast at 350 or 375 for about 30 min and they always turn out delicious.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?!
